Very quaint.
A blog primarily dedicated to my own art and occasionally that of others. It may also feature architecture since I am an architect and also consider that to be art. It may also include other ramblings from time to time. My artwork is presently represented by The Little Art Gallery and Flink's Fine Art both in Raleigh, NC. All pieces shown on the site may be purchased if available. Most pieces are 11"x 15" in size and mat out at about 16"x20".

The question was asked: What I use for value sketches?
I actually use several mediums. I use felt tip pens, fine tipped pens, 4B pencil and charcoal.
Sometimes mixed together and sometime alone. If I start a field sketch with say a felt tip or a fine tip, I may enhance that back in the studio with shadow and highlights, or I may use that sketch as a reference to start a fresh one.
I recently bought some water brushes to experiment with. Haven't used them as yet though.
