Small painting of our historic state capitol building in North Carolina.
A blog primarily dedicated to my own art and occasionally that of others. It may also feature architecture since I am an architect and also consider that to be art. It may also include other ramblings from time to time. My artwork is presently represented by The Little Art Gallery and Flink's Fine Art both in Raleigh, NC. All pieces shown on the site may be purchased if available. Most pieces are 11"x 15" in size and mat out at about 16"x20".

Plein Air at the Capitol Building Yesterday. Sort of a progress set from real subject to an almost finished product. All thats left to do are some highlights and details. It was a fairly hot day with temps near 90F but I painted in the shade of a very large oak tree. Just after noon so the shadows were not exactly where I wanted them. I'll go back later in the day next time. This is the old historic Capitol building. The newer statehouse may be on my painting agenda as well, at a later date.
