A blog primarily dedicated to my own art and occasionally that of others. It may also feature architecture since I am an architect and also consider that to be art. It may also include other ramblings from time to time. My artwork is presently represented by The Little Art Gallery and Flink's Fine Art both in Raleigh, NC. All pieces shown on the site may be purchased if available. Most pieces are 11"x 15" in size and mat out at about 16"x20".

I generally do value sketches before I do a painting. This shows me where the darks and lights go and it also aids in composing the scene. Colors are considered here also and may not resemble the original scene
Your sketches are great. What different pencils, charcoal etc. do you use?
